Not only does summer camp teach
children independence, it teaches them that freedom comes with
responsibility.
Leaving home and interacting with other children in a foreign
environment is an entirely different experience from going to school
every day. It’s a great way to learn how to be independent. Children
can’t learn about being independent from reading books or taking tests,
but they can learn it at summer camp. It might be scary at first, but
children soon adjust, and they never forget their experiences at summer

children are forced into independence through neglect or breaking the
